Many students can qualify for a Jackson College scholarship. Some scholarships require financial need, some are based on merit, and some combine both criteria. There also are special scholarships for students with disabilities.

Finish Line Grant
The Finish Line grant targets current and/or returning Jackson College students that are within 15 credits of a degree or certificate and lack financial aid due to credit limit, suspension, or aggregate limits, and/or have a Business Office hold. This grant would allow students the opportunity to reach their academic goals and complete their degree or certificate with Jackson College.

Dozens of private scholarships are awarded at JC based on criteria set up by the sponsoring organizations and donors.

Student Emergency Fund
Emergency funds have been donated by friends of the College as well as employees, their families, and others who are interested in helping students succeed. When funding is available, grants are provided to meet one-time unforeseen emergencies that would otherwise prevent students from continuing their education at Jackson College.
Veteran Student Emergency Fund
“Jackson College’s Got your 6” is a grant that can be used for basic living expenses (rent, utilities, and food), temporary needs and family emergencies. To be eligible for “Jackson College’s Got Your 6,” you must be a currently enrolled Jackson College student, and utilizing a form of Veteran Affairs Education Benefit.

The Myer & Lois Franklin Charitable Trust Scholarship
The Myer & Lois Franklin Charitable Trust Scholarship is a $500 – $5,000 scholarship. Applications are available through the Jackson Community Foundation web page.
Sigmund Foundation Scholarship
The Sigmund Foundation Scholarship was established to provide financial assistance to Jackson and Lenawee County graduating high school seniors, students already enrolled in college as full or part-time students, or residents interested in furthering their educations. The scholarship of up to $5,000 can be renewed through the application process. Funds are restricted to tuition, books and related fees. Although not limited to any specific field of study, priority will be given to students majoring in the medical and aviation fields.

The Hillsdale County Community Foundation offers more than 70 scholarships to area students. Scholarship awards vary in size and number, and are available for both graduating high school seniors and non-traditional student.

Lenawee County Community Foundation
Scholarship funds support education by providing scholarships. Scholarships can support nonprofit preschool through high school education, or further the education of graduates of a particular high school, students in a specified field of study, students meeting specific criteria, or students enrolled in a chosen institution.

Jackson County RoseQueen Scholarship Pageant
The Jackson County Rose Queen Scholarship Pageant pageant, which is in association with the Miss America program, is considered one of the largest pageants in the nation, providing candidates with thousands of dollars in scholarships and prizes each year. Young women ages 17-23 vie for the Rose Queen designation and the opportunity to compete at the state level for the title of Miss Michigan with the hopes of winning Miss America.
Al Glick Scholarship
Henry Ford Jackson Hospital, in collaboration with local colleges and other local and regional partners, is offering educational scholarships for community members who want to build careers in healthcare.
These scholarships are for eligible individuals planning to obtain a degree and/or certificate as a Registered Nurse, Surgical Technologist or Medical Assistant.
State of Michigan Scholarships
Michigan Achievement Scholarship
Governor Gretchen Whitmer announced that starting in 2023, students with a high school diploma, certificate of completion, or high school equivalency can apply for the Michigan Achievement Scholarship and lower their cost of college by thousands of dollars a year. Students should talk to their parents or guardians, gather documents, and fill out their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as soon as possible in order to take advantage of this scholarship opportunity. Students who are eligible for the Michigan Achievement Scholarship may receive more financial aid from the State of Michigan: Students will be eligible if their family demonstrates financial need* when they complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
- Up to $2,750 if they attend a community college, per year, up to three years.

Michigan ECHO Scholarship
The Michigan Equity, Courage, Hope, and Opportunity (MI ECHO) Scholarship allows people living in Michigan to access associate’s degree and certificate programs. The scholarship covers tuition, contact hours, and other mandatory fees. Through MI ECHO, students can earn a degree or certificate to gain stable employment and boost their standard of living.
This scholarship is only for people who cannot access federal financial aid and who worked on the frontlines during the COVID-19 pandemic. The candidate must be eligible for acceptance into a certificate or associate degree program and cannot have earned an associate or bachelor’s degree in any country.

The Winning in the Community Scholarship is meant to assist students who have made a positive and lasting impact on their community. Whether they’ve been active as a volunteer, or as an entrepreneur starting a non-profit -or anything in between- helping others is something only people with a true dedication to giving back are passionate about.

MI Student Aid
The Student Financial Services Bureau (SFSB), located within the Michigan Department of Treasury, encourages students to pursue postsecondary education by providing equality of access to student financial resources and information. Through the administration of various student financial assistance programs, students receive the guidance and funding necessary to pursue their educational goals.
Tuition Incentive Program (TIP)
The Tuition Incentive Program (TIP) is a program funded by the State of Michigan that encourages eligible students to complete high school by providing tuition assistance for the first two years of college and beyond. TIP form, driver’s license and diploma required.

The AmeriCorps Education Award is a post-service benefit received by participants who complete terms of national service in approved AmeriCorps programs.
Coca-Cola Scholarship
The Coca-Cola Scholars Program scholarship is an achievement-based scholarship awarded to graduating high school seniors. Students are recognized for their capacity to lead and serve, as well as their commitment to making a significant impact on their schools and communities.
Jack Kent Cooke Foundation
The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship Program each year awards approximately 50 scholarships to students attending community colleges or two-year institutions in the U.S. and planning to transfer to four-year institutions. Each award covers a portion of educational expenses, including tuition, living expenses, required fees, and books for the final two to three years of the baccalaureate degree.

Rehabs.org Scholarship
Rehabs.org launched a free scholarship contest for BIPOC college students. By providing financial assistance to help pay for books, tuition, or daily expenses, we hope to encourage more students of color to develop a passion for raising awareness about the risks and dangers associated with addiction.
In order to participate in the scholarship, applicants must meet the following:
- If currently attending the student must not be on academic probation
This scholarship is cyclical and awarded at the beginning of every Spring and Fall Semester unless otherwise noted at the website listed below.
